Odonata, Your First Aid is committed to delivering the highest-quality training and adhering to the highest ethical standards at all times. The terms and conditions detailed below are designed to ensure we provide all prospective customers with accurate information. This demonstrates our commitment to delivering full transparency across all operations.
Registered Training Organisation
Odonata, Your First Aid is a registered training organisation that provides internationally recognised training and is licensed to practice in compliance with the;
- Public Health Act Cap 295 of the Laws of Zambia
- Food Safety Act No. & of 2019 of the Laws of Zambia
- Solid Waste Regulation & Management Act No. 20 of 2018 of the Laws of Zambia
- Occupation Health & Safety Act No. 36 of 2010 of the Laws of Zambia
Please click here to view information about our company and the scope of the training we provide. However, it should be noted that the Odonata, Your First Aid course is delivered in a non-accredited format. Each course is approved by the local HPCZ.
Training
The training offered by Odonata is designed to provide participants with basic, Childminder, Comprehensive, and Wilderness first aid knowledge and skills. Training does NOT constitute a medical qualification—participants receive a training completion certificate and may request an internationally accredited certificate.
Odonata accepts no responsibility for the subsequent actions of any individuals who complete this course of study. First aid training involves moderate physical activity, including demonstrating CPR on the floor. Odonata accepts no responsibility for any harm from participating in the training provided.
Disclaimer
Our educators may take photos throughout the session. These images may be used on our social media platforms, website, and other marketing material mentioning the organisation name. If you do not apply for this term, you must advise us before the session.
Course Booking
Please note that all clients are responsible for filling in the online booking form to the best of their knowledge and as accurately as possible. Odonata will not share this information with any further 3rd party.Â
Course Cancellation
Odonata reserves the right to cancel or arrange an alternative date for a course. Under these circumstances, Odonata will endeavour to notify participants of the cancellation and arrange an alternative session for them to attend.
Cancellations of courses by clients will not result in a refund.
Notifications of cancellations or requests for a course transfer must be made to Odonata 5-10 days before your anticipated course date. We understand that the unexpected can happen, and we will do our best to find an alternative course date for you to attend!
If your course is cancelled due to current government restrictions, you will be offered a virtual course or rescheduled into a future face-to-face session; no refunds will be provided.Â
Payment
- We require full payment from each individual or corporate before training for Odonata public courses.
- For private classes, we require full payment upfront (charging for a minimum of 8 participants); however, organisers can add additional participants up to the training date and will be provided with an invoice.Â
- If you are selling tickets to a course, you must specify the original purchase value of the ticket within your listing or advertisements for the course to the customer.
- Please note Odonata pricing does not include travel costs out of Lusaka area. Please note Odonata pricing does not include accommodation for our trainers. This will be charged separately to the private party or company.
- Please note Odonata pricing does not include food or drinks for participants.
Non-attendance
If you suddenly cannot attend a course, Odonata requires you to contact us within seven business days to arrange a transfer to a more suitable course date. Please note that if your course choice is private and you cannot attend, Odonata will offer you the next available public course date or invite you to set up another private group date. Please note if you do not attend you do not receive a certificate.
Course sanitation & safety
Our priority is always the safety and well-being of those attending our classes. We have taken appropriate safety measures to ensure our participants are safe and reassured during training. All participants will be briefed on hygiene control as part of the session before the practical training.
We also ensure that:
- Manikin skins are cleaned and disinfected after each training course.Â
- Participants will wipe manikins down with disinfectant wipes before and after use.Â
- Participants are only required to take actual breaths during CPR practice if disposable mouthpieces are made available. Instead, participants can demonstrate the correct technique and time to deliver ventilations.
Participation Certificate
The Odonata course is HPCZ-approved and taught by medical practitioners. After completing the session, participants will receive a participation certificate. Certificates are valid for two years, after we invite participants to participate in a refresher course.
